Instant Pot Ground Turkey Taco Meat (from frozen)
Make flavorful ground turkey taco meat (from frozen) in a multi-cooker in 35 minutes.
- 1 lb frozen lean ground turkey (any other ground meat works; see Note if yours is not frozen)
- 1/2 cup beef broth (use whatever broth you like and have on hand or water)
- 2 tbsp grain-free Taco Seasoning (or one packet if store-bought)
- 1/3 cup salsa (optional)

Pour the broth (or water) into the bottom of your multicooker pot and put the frozen ground turkey in.
Add the Taco Seasoning {add link} and set to Pressure Cook on manual for 25 minutes, then quick release.
Set the multi cooker to Saute and break up the meat really well with a sturdy spatula or potato masher (my personal fav).
Turn on the saute function to let simmer and thicken for a few minutes as most of the liquid evaporates, about 8-10 minutes. Stir occasionally. Turn the multi cooker off.
Serve atop your favorite grain-free taco base with all of your favorite taco toppings.
NOTES: If you are more on top of your game than I am :-p and happen to have fresh or defrosted meat, saute the meat for 6-8 minutes until it is cooked through. Add seasoning and 2-3 tablespoons of water to the pan (or pot) and let simmer for 10 minutes until most of the liquid evaporates. You can do this in a regular skillet or use the multi cooker on the Saute function.
The salsa is optional but it really does give an extra depth of flavor with just a small amount and can be a great way to level up the recipe!
